Ingredients in this Recipe

1 crisp apple, finely grated with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, optional
1 pound herring filet (or roasted moist, tender chicken 12 oz. will also work)
1 small sweet onion, finely minced for herring, chopped (and browned if using chicken)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 3 tablespoons white vinegar for onion for herring
3 hard boiled eggs, farm fresh
3 medium carrots, boiled
3 sugar beets, boiled
