1/2 loaf (1 lb. loaf) good quality French or Italian bread
1/4 tsp. celery seed
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 Tbs. olive oil
2 Tbs. unsalted butter
3 celery stalks, chopped
4 tsp. chopped fresh sage
6 bacon slices
6 cups chicken stock or low sodium chicken broth
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
