1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup pecans, roughly chopped

1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup light brown sugar
10 ounces day old bread, such as brioche or sourdough, cut into 1/2 inch slices or 1 inch cubes
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Unsalted butter, room temperature, for dish
